For temple accountants

For temple accountants: receipts that reconcile

Your month-end should be about exceptions, not re-typing. SwaDharma matches gateway payouts to receipts, keeps the guest-house daybook, holds supplier bills against what actually arrived, and hands you Tally vouchers.

What does SwaDharma do for a temple accountant?

For a temple accountant, SwaDharma turns three sources of entries into checked ones. Netra reconciles cheque, NEFT, POS and payment-gateway deposits against immutable receipts, matching gateway settlements automatically, and exports Tally XML vouchers. Kshetra keeps the dharmashala’s (pilgrim rest house’s) bank and cash accounts, contra entries, daybook and GST summary, with its own Tally export. Inventory three-way matches supplier invoices to orders and goods receipts within 2% and tracks budgets.

Four screens an accountant lives in

Know what reached the bank, payout by payout

Netra’s settlements screen reconciles every deposit route a temple uses — cheque, NEFT, POS and the payment gateways — with clearances and fees. Gateway payouts match automatically; a cheque still in clearing shows as pending, not as money in the bank.

Closing a month

October’s close, in the order an accountant does it

  1. Settlements

Review Netra’s unmatched items: cheques still clearing, a deposit with no receipt against it, a payout with an unusual fee.

  2. Guest house

Check Kshetra’s daybook and contra entries against the bank passbook; pull the GST summary.

  3. Suppliers

Clear Inventory invoices that fell outside the 2% tolerance, then compare budget actuals with committed spend.

  4. Export

Export Netra’s Tally XML and Kshetra’s Tally export for the month, and send the period’s reports to the trustees.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Something else? Write to hello@swadharmasetu.com or book a demo.

Does SwaDharma export to Tally?

Yes, from two apps: Netra (ledger mapping in Tally Manager, then Tally XML vouchers) and Kshetra (its own Tally export for room and hall accounts). Inventory’s Tally export is on the roadmap.

How does gateway reconciliation work?

Netra matches payment-gateway settlements to the receipts they paid for automatically, recording the gateway fees, so the net amount in the bank ties back to individual receipts.

Does the software file GST or TDS returns?

No. Kshetra produces a GST summary for room and hall income, and TDS and GST handling for expenses is part of Netra’s Expenses & Accounts module in early access. Returns are filed by the trust or its CA.

Can an accountant correct a wrong receipt?

Only through Netra’s controlled correction step, which needs the right permission and leaves a log entry. The original receipt is never edited or deleted.

Can the statutory auditor get read-only access?

Yes. Inventory has a read-only Auditor role, Netra has a report-viewer role and Kshetra a viewer role, and reports export to Excel, CSV or PDF.

Does Netra handle fund accounting for corpus and restricted funds?

Not yet. General, restricted and corpus fund accounting is part of Expenses & Accounts, which is in early access — ask for a preview.

Bring last month’s settlement file to the demo

We run it through Netra’s settlements screen with you, map three of your Tally ledgers and export a voucher file you can import.
