For the temple office

For the temple office: calm software for busy counters

On a festival morning the counter clerk has a queue, a priest asking for the seva (offering) list and a printer that won’t behave. SwaDharma was designed to stay calm and obvious for operators over 50 — big buttons, one receipt per family, and no print dialog.

What is temple office software?

Temple office software is what counter operators, booking clerks and storekeepers use through the day. On SwaDharma, the Netra counter puts puja (worship), donation and darshan-ticket bookings on one three-lane screen, with token numbers, seva cut-off times and silent printing through a free print agent. Kshetra gives the booking clerk room check-in, checkout and a housekeeping board. Inventory replaces verbal store requests with consumption slips.

On a festival morning

The small things that slow a counter down

None of these are big problems on their own. Together they are why the queue reaches the gate.

Arguments about who was first

Token numbers give every booking a numbered place in the day’s queue, so the order is on record.

A seva booked after the priest has started

Each seva can have a booking cut-off time and a daily limit per channel, so the counter cannot oversell it.

A print dialog for every receipt

The free desktop print agent prints silently, on A4, A5, A6 or 58/80 mm thermal paper, the moment you save.

“What was my gotra, again?”

Look the devotee up by phone number or name and see their past sevas and details — gotra (family lineage), nakshatra (birth star), “in memory of” — before you print.

“Is this receipt real?” at the prasad counter

Every receipt has a QR code. A scanner at the gate or the prasad (sanctified food) counter verifies it and records the hand-over.

A clerk who reads Kannada, not English

Netra runs in English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati — each operator chooses their own.

A shift at Counter 2

What a counter shift looks like on Netra

  1. Open your counter

Sign in and you see only Counter 2 — your collections, not the whole temple’s.

  2. Call the token, find the devotee

Type the phone number; the family’s details fill in. Add the seva, a donation and darshan tickets to one receipt.

  3. Take payment any way

Cash, cheque, NEFT, UPI, POS card or a payment link — or “pay later”. The receipt prints by itself.

  4. Close your shift

Your counter’s report shows the shift’s total by payment mode, so the cash you hand over matches the screen.

Front desk

For the booking clerk at the dharmashala

Kshetra gives the clerk at the dharmashala (pilgrim rest house) or bhakta nivas everything for a stay on one screen: check-in, extend, transfer, checkout with deductions, and a housekeeping board that says which rooms are actually ready.

  • Guest ID (Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or voter ID) is format-checked, then masked on screen and encrypted at rest
  • Housekeeping board: clean, dirty, inspected, in progress, out of order
  • A same-day guest can hold a room until it is clean
  • PDF receipt and invoice from the server, ready to print or share on WhatsApp

Stores and kitchen

Ask the store in writing, not across the courtyard

In Inventory the kitchen supervisor fills a consumption slip for each meal — on the office computer or a phone — and the storekeeper issues against it. Stock goes out oldest lot first, and nobody has to remember who took the extra ghee.

  • Slips by Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, rolled into a monthly item-by-day sheet
  • Prasad items booked at the Netra counter hold and issue stock automatically
  • Inventory runs in English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati

Frequently asked questions

Which printers does the counter work with?

Netra prints receipts on A4, A5 or A6 printers and 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printers. The free desktop print agent sends receipts straight to the printer without a print dialog.

Can I work in my own language?

Yes, on the Netra counter: English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati, chosen per operator. Kshetra’s front desk is in English.

What if I make a mistake on a receipt?

Receipts cannot be edited or deleted. A correction or reprint goes through a controlled step that needs permission and is logged — usually your supervisor does it.

Can I take a booking for a devotee who will pay later?

Yes. “Pay later” is one of the counter’s payment options, alongside cash, cheque, NEFT, UPI, POS card and payment link.

Can the counter run on a phone during an utsav?

Yes. The collection mobile app is the Netra counter installed on a phone from the browser, useful at utsavs (festivals), outside the main counter or for door-to-door collection.

Does a kiosk reduce the queue at my counter?

It can. A Netra kiosk lets devotees donate, book a puja or a darshan ticket and print their own receipt, and those bookings land in the same ledger as your counter’s.
