Dharmashala booking software for rooms, dormitory beds and halls
Kshetra runs your dharmashala (pilgrim rest house), bhakta nivas and kalyana mandapam (wedding hall) from one screen — with no double bookings, because each temple’s bookings are processed one at a time and unpaid holds expire on their own.

What is Kshetra?
Kshetra is dharmashala booking software for temples and religious trusts. It manages rooms, dormitory beds and halls — bhakta nivas (devotee lodging), guest houses, kalyana mandapams and community halls — from reservation to checkout. Bookings are processed one at a time per temple, so the same room or hall cannot be sold twice, and unpaid holds lapse automatically. Devotees book on the temple’s own page; staff handle check-in, housekeeping, deposits, refunds and accounts at kshetra.swadharmasetu.com.

From hold to checkout
Everything the dharmashala office does, in one system
Kshetra replaces the room register, the hall diary and the deposit book. Each tab below is a working part of the product.
Check a family in, with their ID recorded — not photocopied
Set up buildings, room types (AC or non-AC), add-ons and guest categories with their own discounts. A booking moves from reserved to confirmed to checked in. At the desk the clerk records an Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or voter ID number, which is format-checked, stored encrypted and shown masked from then on.
- Extend a stay, transfer to another room, release early or cancel
- Block rooms you do not want sold, and approve complimentary stays
- Server-generated PDF receipts and invoices for every booking

Sell a dormitory by the bed, not by the room
Yatri (pilgrim) groups often need beds, not rooms. Kshetra prices dormitory beds per bed per night, with separate AC and non-AC rent and deposit, so a large dormitory can be filled one pilgrim at a time.
- Rent and deposit set separately for AC and non-AC beds
- Deposit taken at check-in, deductions recorded at checkout
- Deposit and outstanding-dues reports for the accounts team

Kalyana mandapams and community halls, by time slot
Halls are booked by time slot, with floors, facilities, amenities and photos on the booking page. A wedding family can take the mandapam and the dining hall together as one group booking, pay an advance now and settle the balance later.
- Reservation types: standard hold, partial (advance paid) or free
- Transfer or cancel a hall booking; check out with deductions you define
- Hall rent, deposit, partial-payment, transfer and cancellation reports

A housekeeping board that shows which rooms are really ready
Every room carries a housekeeping status — clean, due for cleaning, cleaning in progress, inspected, not ready or out of order. When a same-day guest books a room that is still being cleaned, Kshetra can hold it for them until it is marked clean.
- Filter the board by status to send staff where they are needed
- Runs in the browser, so a supervisor can update it from a phone

Devotees book a room before they set out — and the office sees it at once
Every temple on Kshetra gets its own public pages for rooms and halls. Devotees pick dates, see what is free, pay online and receive an email confirmation. The booking lands in the same grid the front desk uses, so a room sold online cannot be sold again at the counter.

- Payment through Razorpay, Cashfree or PayU

What is dharmashala booking software?
Dharmashala booking software replaces the room register and hall diary with one system that knows what is free, what is held and what is paid. Kshetra handles rooms, dormitory beds and halls — including online booking, check-in, housekeeping, deposits, refunds and accounts — for temples and religious trusts.
How does Kshetra prevent double bookings?
Kshetra processes each temple’s bookings one at a time, so two clerks — or a clerk and an online devotee — cannot take the same room or hall at once. A repeated click or payment retry does not create a second booking. Unpaid holds expire when the hold window lapses; each temple sets its own window, with defaults of 30 minutes for rooms and 15 for halls.
Can devotees book dharmashala rooms online?
Yes. Each temple gets its own room and hall booking pages. Devotees choose dates, pay through Razorpay, Cashfree or PayU and receive an email confirmation. Our guide to setting up online dharmashala booking covers rules, deposits and refunds.
Does Kshetra verify Aadhaar or do eKYC?
No. Kshetra records an Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or voter ID number at check-in, checks its format, stores it encrypted and shows it masked. It does not verify the document with any government system.
Can we take an advance for a kalyana mandapam booking?
Yes. Hall bookings support partial payments and advances, so a family can pay an advance to reserve the mandapam and settle the balance later. Several halls — say the mandapam and the dining hall — can be booked together as one group booking.
How are cancellations and refunds handled?
Each temple sets refund slabs by days of notice. The default returns 50% with 7 days’ notice, 75% with 15 days and 90% with 30 days; you can change these. Checkout deductions come from a list your temple defines.
Does Kshetra work with Tally and GST?
Yes. Kshetra keeps bank and cash accounts, a daybook and contra entries, produces a GST summary and exports to Tally. Member records can hold a GSTIN for invoices to organisations.
Which languages and devices does Kshetra support?
Kshetra is in English and runs in a web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to install.
