Kshetra features

Kshetra features: rooms, beds, halls, housekeeping and accounts

The complete list of what Kshetra does today, from the first online hold to the last deduction at checkout. Everything on this page is live.

In short

Kshetra is a temple hall booking system and dharmashala room booking software in one. It books AC and non-AC rooms, dormitory beds and halls — kalyana mandapams (wedding halls), dining halls and community halls — at the desk or on the temple’s own booking page. Bookings are processed one at a time per temple, so nothing is sold twice. Check-in captures an encrypted, masked ID number; checkout applies deductions and refund slabs; the accounts module keeps the daybook and exports to Tally.

Rooms & check-in

Rooms for a dharmashala (pilgrim rest house) or bhakta nivas (devotee lodging), from the building master down to a single extra bed.

Buildings and room masters

Set up each building, floor and room once; the booking grid is drawn from them.

Room types

AC and non-AC room types, each with its own rent and deposit.

Add-ons

Chargeable extras such as an extra bed, added to a booking.

Guest categories

Categories with their own discounts, applied when the booking is made.

Booking statuses

Reserved, confirmed and checked in — visible on the grid at a glance.

Check-in with ID

Record an Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or voter ID number. Format-checked, stored encrypted, shown masked. Kshetra does not verify documents.

Extend, transfer, release early

Extend a stay, move a guest to another room, or release a room before the booked checkout.

Room blocking and complimentary stays

Block rooms from sale, and send complimentary stays for approval.

Dormitory beds

For yatri (pilgrim) groups and large dormitories that are let by the bed, not the room.

Per bed, per night

Each bed is booked and charged on its own, night by night.

AC and non-AC rates

Separate rent and deposit for AC and non-AC dormitory beds.

Deposits and deductions

Deposit taken at check-in and deductions recorded at checkout.

Deposit reports

See what deposit is held and what has been returned.

Halls & mandapams

Kalyana mandapams, dining halls and community halls, booked by time slot.

Time slots

Each hall is booked by slot, so one hall can serve a morning and an evening event.

Floors, facilities and amenities

Describe each hall with its floor, facilities, amenities and photos.

Group bookings

Book several halls together — the mandapam and the dining hall — as one booking.

Partial payments and advances

Take an advance to reserve a hall and collect the balance later.

Reservation types

Standard (held until paid), partial (advance received) or free.

Transfer, cancel, check out

Move a booking to another hall, cancel it, or check out with deductions.

Online booking page

Each temple on Kshetra has its own public pages for rooms and halls.

Room and hall booking pages

Devotees pick dates, see what is free and book — under your temple’s own path on kshetra.swadharmasetu.com.

Online payment

Payment through Razorpay, Cashfree or PayU.

Email confirmations

The guest receives the booking confirmation by email.

Receipts to share

PDF receipts and invoices, with a link the guest can share on WhatsApp.

Unpaid holds expire

An online booking that is not paid within the hold window is released automatically. Each temple sets its own window.

One grid, no double sale

Online and desk bookings are processed one at a time per temple, and a repeated request never books twice.

Cancellations, refunds & deductions

Rules the office used to keep in its head, written into the system.

Refund slabs per temple

Refunds by days of notice. The default returns 50% with 7 days’ notice, 75% with 15 and 90% with 30; change them to match your rules.

Deduction masters

Define the deductions that can be made at checkout, for rooms and for halls separately.

Cancellation and transfer reports

Every cancellation and transfer, reported separately for rooms and halls.

Housekeeping board

A live board of every room’s housekeeping status.

Six statuses

Clean, due for cleaning, cleaning in progress, inspected, not ready and out of order.

Filter by status

Show only the rooms that need attention.

Hold until clean

A same-day booking can hold a room that is still being cleaned until it is marked clean.

Accounts

The accounts that sit behind the bookings, kept in the same system.

Bank and cash accounts

Masters for each bank and cash account the dharmashala uses.

Passbook and daybook

Day-by-day entries for every account.

Contra entries

Record cash deposited to the bank and other transfers between accounts.

GST summary

A GST summary report for the period.

Tally export

Export to Tally with your own ledger settings.

Member records with GSTIN

Member records hold a GSTIN, so invoices to organisations carry it.

Reports & audit logs

The registers trustees and auditors ask for, without assembling them by hand.

Occupancy

Room occupancy report for any period.

Rent and deposit

Room and hall rent and deposit reports.

Checkout, cancellation, transfer

Separate reports for each, for rooms and for halls.

Super admin, temple admin, booking clerk, accounts and viewer.

66 permissions

Rights are granted permission by permission, not only by role name.

Masked identity data

ID numbers are shown masked to staff after they are recorded.

What is a temple hall booking system?

A temple hall booking system lets a temple or trust take bookings for its kalyana mandapam, dining hall and community halls by time slot, with advances, deposits, cancellations and checkout deductions recorded in one place. Kshetra does this alongside rooms and dormitory beds.

Can one booking cover several halls?

Yes. A group booking can include several halls — for example a mandapam and a dining hall for the same wedding — with one advance and one balance.

Can we set our own refund rules?

Yes. Refund slabs are set per temple by days of notice. The default is 50% back with 7 days’ notice, 75% with 15 and 90% with 30.

Does Kshetra mark rooms dirty automatically at checkout?

No. Housekeeping statuses are updated on the board by staff. A same-day booking can hold a room that is still being cleaned until it is marked clean.

Can one Kshetra account run several dharmashalas?

Yes. Kshetra is multi-temple: each temple has its own path, its own booking pages, and its own users and rights. See how this works for multi-temple trusts.

How is Kshetra priced?

Kshetra is priced on request after a free guided demo. See pricing or book a demo.
